AT&T news hints at Apple iPhone 5 pre-orders

We’ve known for a while that AT&T were going to increase the insurance cost for iPhone users, and the real bad news that we kept hearing was the possibility of throttling data for the top 5%, which should help maintain the network and run smoothly with increased users. Throttling has started, and while this will only upset the top 5% of data users, the insurance increase will hurt many more people.
Today you’ll see on AT&T’s insurance page some updated price information, which states the cost for iPhone insurance with AT&T will rise from $5 to $7, sadly this will change for both current and new users. This is said to start on October 4, 2011. Those of you that have been following the latest Apple rumors, and news will know that this is the same date as Apple’s “Let’s Talk iPhone” event, which should reveal an iPhone 5 and the release date.
