Nexus Prime battery life and processor worries

By: Alan Ng | September 30, 2011

If you have already decided that the Samsung Nexus Prime is the next smartphone for you, there is little doubt that you’ll be tuning into Samsung and Google’s upcoming Mobile Unpacked event that has now been confirmed to be taking place on October 11.
One thing that is still up for debate though is the type of processor that will be included in the device, as although it has been heavily rumored to include a dual-core 1.5ghz processor, the brand of this processor is yet to be determined, and could make a vital difference in terms of overall performance. READ THE FULL ARTICLE: ProductReviews

iPhone 5 more in demand than Nexus Prime – Reality or Fabrication?

By: Alan Ng | September 29, 2011

As Android and iOS fans gear up for arguably the biggest smartphone launches to date in relation to the iPhone 5 and the still unannounced Nexus Prime, a recent study has concluded that demand for Apple’s device is far great than that for Google’s upcoming phone.
The study has been conducted by mobile ad network InMobi and it reveals that the iPhone 5 is far more desirable than devices from Google and RIM’s Blackberry smartphones, as reported from AppleInsider. Consumers were surveyed from the US, Canada and Europe and although the stats suggest that Apple’s devices are leading the way in terms of consumer demand, it remains to be seen whether these stats really reflect on public opinion. Google Nexus S tethering problems fixed with Android 2.3.6

By: Peter Chubb | September 28, 2011

The release of the Samsung Nexus Prime is fast approaching, but that does not mean to say that support for the Nexus S has stopped. The handset has been suffering with tethering problems, so you will be pleased to know that this issue has been fixed with Android 2.3.6, yet another incarnation of Gingerbread.
What we love about this handset is how you do not have to wait for the update, as it is an OTA and comes direct from Google. The reason for this is due to the fact that it is a stock device, so does not require a third-party UI, which is the biggest reason for OS update delays – hence the reason for the delay of the HTC ThunderBolt. The update was made available to Nexus S customers yesterday. READ THE FULL ARTICLE: ProductReviews

Huawei Honor joins Nexus Prime in rivalling iPhone 5

By: Chris Maugham | September 27, 2011

Once again Apple’s flagship smartphone, the iPhone 5, is being tipped as the one to beat despite the company’s drop in share hold of the market. It seems like every new device that releases intends on bettering the popular product, the latest of which is the Nexus Prime from Samsung. Another device joining the iPhone 5 rivaling list is the Huawei Honor.
The China based Telecommunications Company announced their high end product yesterday and will be hoping to compete in the market at the highest level with it when it releases globally. Judging from its impressive looking specs, they might just be able to do so, which will mark a first for this company. READ THE FULL ARTICLE: ProductReviews

Close up with Samsung Nexus Prime: Earlier Verizon release

By: Peter Chubb | September 19, 2011

There is still much confusion over the official release date for the Samsung Nexus Prime, but one guy has managed to get close up with the device. You may wonder what this means for you and I; well the one that was shown to him looks as though their could be an earlier Verizon release than we first thought. This all happened after the Big Red Developer conference had wrapped up at Las Vegas.
During that conference there was no sign of said phone, so you can imagine how shocked The Droid Guy’s source was when he was shown what he now believes is the Nexus Prime or Droid Prime as Verizon looks to be calling the device. So why do we now think that this is Verizon’s version and that they will be getting it sooner? READ THE FULL ARTICLE: Product Reviews
